Navision Product CD doesn't install C/ODBC Driver

mihokomihoko Member Posts: 5
Hello,

I'm trying to install C/ODBC Driver using Navision Product CD, but it doesn't work out. I click on 'Installation' from CD Menu - Tools - C/ODBC, and nothing happens. I browsed the CD to see no folders or files containing 'CODBC' in their name. Navision is already installed on my computer, and other features seem to be working fine.
Is the CD possibly defected or am I missing something? I've already sent the CD to the vendor to get it checked, but they never replied to me.
I need to access Navision databases to create reports.

Any help or information would be appreciated.
Thank you.

Which version of Navision are you using?

On the v4 disk, you will find the installer at:

    DISK1\Nodbc\setup.exe

This will install the driver which you then configure through Windows > Start > Control Panel > ODBC.

    Good luck,
    john.

Thank you for a quick reply.

    I'm using version 3.70.A.

However, I don't see a folder named Nodbc (nor *odbc) anywhere in DISK1 even there is a CODBC installation section in the auto-run wizard.

I need a driver named 'C/ODBC 32 bit' to create DSN for Navision ODBC, don't I? Is the CD only way to get this driver installed?

Sorry, I'm a beginner about these stuff.

On the CD is folder CODBC in root dir. If not, you have some customized CD. In install menu is the CODBC under Tools section as first item.

In the root directory, I see:

    AcroRead
    ADCS
    Additional Interfaces
    Bin
    Client
    Devkit
    Doc
    Nas
    Server
    SQL_ESP

    above folders and,

    autorun.inf
    Navision.ico
    startcd.exe
    startcd.ini

    files. That's it.
It looks like there is no exe file for CODBC driver installation...

Than, it is possible that it is problem of 3.70A. Because I have only 3.70 and 3.70B, I am not able to confirm that. Try to use 3.70 or 3.70B CD if you have one.

    Thank you John and Kamil.

I'll try to contact the vendor to see if they have Version 3.70 or 3.70B available.
