Hi!
Our company is fast on its way migrating to Navision 3.7 as required by our regional office. They been using this erp for about a year or two. Our business operates regionally. Each affiliates including ours databases are located in our central office-singapore. Since I will become a new user of Navision, I have in mind several questions: Pardon me asking the ff:
1. Can I connect and use navision of course assuming and using my username and password using a different computers and in different locations at any given time? Say, If I want to work in my home or outside the office?
2. Can I perform querying (MSQUERY) from excel or SQL and access our database located not in our local network but in our regional office-singapore?
3. In our warehouse which is also located away from our main office, we use DSL or broadband connection with a 712kbps speed. Is it enough to perform and process orders coming from our main office? Is connection matters in performing order processing or system transaction?
Any input or comments, please throw them in? :?:
Hope you pardon my ignorance about Navision 3.7?

ad 2) Yes, but you need to have access to the server - (you need to be able to ping the server)
ad 3) Minimal bandwidth for Navision client is 10Mbit. If you have slower connection, you need to use Terminal Services or Citrix to run the client remotely. Navision need to transfer all needed data to client and back, all is done on client...

Sorry but I forgot to mention also that we are using Citrix metaframe XP in connecting to our sql server 2003 database located in our central office-singapore. That is how we access our main database in singapore. Is Citrix metaframe XP good and reliable enough to efficiently run and use navision v3.7?
BTW-how can I possibly 'ping' our server? what are the steps in doing it? do I need some extra user access or authorization to do it?
thanks for your prompt reply?
