zup file

I know the zup file contains individual user settings. I am not sure how much more info it contains. We have had incidents in 4.0 where users have the whole screen filled by the menu. My understanding is that they have to delete their zup file to get it to correct itself, which works. For some users, however, this is huge because they have many settings and shortcuts that are lost.

Does anyone know of another way to correct this problem without deleting the zup file?

OR is it possible to get everything set up as needed and take a copy of the zup file, then if the menu glitches, the zup file could be deleted and replaced with the saved copy? Obviously, little tweaks since saving the zup file would be lost, but I am not sure if there is ongoing data which would not be current and thus cause problems.

Any suggestions would be appreciated to assist a very frustrated user.

Thanks!

    Deleted the zup file and replacing with saved copy work well. I store all zup files in one diretory, (users access Navision via terminal server, so they all share the startup icon, by making the startup command contain,

    id=c:\zup\%username%

    then I copy the directory contents to another folder, and am able to just delete and copy the old know good zup file.

    To reset menu, you can also, make a small change in the navigation pane designer, and save it, can be anything, even just assigning a user to a menu, then save it. this should reset the menu back to standard while maintaining users shortcuts.

    Thanks for that information. Unfortuanately I couldn't affect it this time, but that should save some headaches in the future.

    The shortcuts in the navigation pane are not stored in the zup file.
    They are stored in the table 2000000061 User Menu Level.
    So, if you delete the zup file, the shortcuts will not be lost.

    There ist no other way known to solve the problem with the Full Screen Navigation Pane than to delete the zup file (or to restore a backup of an older zup file).
