The best way of moving setting from one database to another!

Hello All!!

I'm in the middle of setting up the company in database for my customer. I have created two databases, first one for testing, and the second one that is treated as the origin one.

When I set up new think on testing database I want to easily move it to the origin database. I know that if changes concern objects like form, report we can export them and then import.

Is there any method of moving changes that are stored in tables? I also know that I can backup whole database, make a new one, and then restore, but it takes a time.

I'm looking for flexible method of moving changes.
Any idea?

Best regards!

    I use dataports, set up in the test company and cut and paste to the other company, only have to create dataport once and you know it is the same in both.

    use a shared directory to run dataport file to, and just import the information from there in the other company. works for me.

    You could also create a separate company instead of a separate database. Then you can use setupchecklist and copy data from one company to another. Which part of setup Check list functionality.

    Hello!!!

    Ara3n, wasn't able to find this functionality, so could you be so nice, and give me more details, how to make this copy?

    Best regards

    in 3.7. General Ledger->Setup->Setup Checklist.
    It will show you a list of all the setup tables. click on function -> copy data. Select Company you want to copy from and select the tables.

    In 4.0 Administration-> IT Administration -> General Setup -> Setup Check List. Same process as 3.7
