Nav 4.1 Employee Portal - Report View Error

clintonp1clintonp1 Member Posts: 12
We get the following error when trying to view any report from Employee portal (Sharepoint Portal): Navision Error (10500) The operating system cannot find the C:\Documents and Settings\clintonp\local settings\Temp\_TEMP_5m1. Please check that the drive, directory and the names are correct.

The webparts are working 100 % when I set them up in Navision and use them in EP, it is only the reports that I am having problems with to view on EP.

I think maybe I didnt setup something correctly. Can anybody help me with this.
Thanks
Clint

    Hi
I never used Employee Portal but the error is very familiar for me

I had this error when I try to access to a folder that is "hidden" (the property "Hidden" - I don't know wath is the exact translation from Spanish-) .

The folder local settings is "hidden". If you put this folder visible, aplying the changes to the subfolders, I think the ploblem will be solved.

    Bye

    Hi Saalek,
I've tried that but it doesnt sort out the problem. What I noticed was that everytime I try to run a report it complains about a different _TEMP_@@ File in the error message.

    Hi,

just a hint: could it be that the report is empty?
Can you verify this through the a Navision client, calling the same report (with the same filters)?

    Hi,

Have you check your printer? Is it correctly set up?

Review roles of Window user and permissions on that folder.

And, sometimes I had problems with temp path with blank characters and others not ASCII characters.

You can test to change in your OS the path to your temp folder to, for example, "C:\temp".

    Bye.

set up a default printer on the machine running Ep and youll be fine :-)
NAS needs a defalult printer to be installed on the machine that is running it, and preferrably i the user profile of NAS account youre using.
Just install a HP Laserjet 6 or something local on the server:-)

    Hi,

I am installing Navision 4.0 SP1 GB version with Employee Portal first time.

I have install Navision 4.0 SP1 and Employee Portal using following steps:

    1 Install Microsoft Windows 2003
    2 Install Microsoft IIS
3 Install Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1
4 Install Microsoft Message Queueing Services
    5 Install Microsoft Sharepoint Services
6 Install Microsoft Visual J# .NET Framework Redistributable Package
7 Install Navision Database Server or SQL Option 4.01
    8 Install Navision Client
    9 Install NAS
10 Install Navison Employee Portal Front End Components

Installation of above has been completed successfully, I am getting 4 webparts in Sharepoint Site.

But getting following error while selecting "Modify Shared Web Part":

Communication error (10114): No reply received from Back End System (Time Out).

I have tried above installation several times from scratch but got same error every time.

    Where I am wrong?
    What is the problem?

    Thanks in advance

If you have this problem, the source can be:

    1) Wrong privileges for account under which the NAS is working
    2) NAS is not started (check event log)
    3) NAS is not connecting to the database (check event log)
    4) The comunication between NEP and NAS is blocked (firewall, privileges)
    5) The system is not correctly configured (check NEP config in Navision, generate the key pair, etc.)

Had the same issues ... my problem was that my message Queuing was faulty ... uninstall and re-install the services and that solved my problem.
