Navision Restore problem

clintonp1clintonp1 Member Posts: 12
We have bout 30 different navision servers(Services), (Cache=8000 per service) running on a Xeo 3Ghz server with 1GB mem . When we try to restore databases +-25GB and bigger it just hangs the entire server and we need to restart. It happens when the restore is busy creating gl entry keys.

Does anybody have an idea of what the problem might be?

Restoring a Navision database just takes up a lot of system resources, so it is expected that it will slow down everything else on the box. Maybe you should consider doing the restore during quiet time when no users are logged into any databases.

Before restoring, disable secondary keys in the big tables. Then do the restore. After that enable the keys one by one.
I had the same problem in a 3.01 DB and this is how I solved it.
