Problem with zup file!!!

JTProJTPro Member Posts: 169
Hello all!!!

I made a modification of layout (not using MenuSuits) of Navision. Now I want to back to default settings of menus, so I delete te zup file located in ../Application Data directory. After this I open Navision and the layout remains as the one before. Who can tell me what I do wrong?

Cheers!

What exactly did you change? If you have changed via the objectdesigner, removing the zupfile will not help.

Unfortunately navision does not have object layers (Exept Menusuite)

I did changes out of Object Designer. For example, I hide menus, using right button of mouse.

    Any idea?

If you change a form via the object designer and you save the object, there is no way back!

Only thing you can do is restore the form from an back-up database.

Well you could also manually reverse the things you did, if you still know what it is that you did.

The zup file only stores session states (that's not really the right term, but it is similar to the session state of a website) of Navision objects of a particular user, so they can customize the look of their Navision to some extent. When you change the design of a form, you change the context in which the user can do this. If you take away a menu option in the design of a form, there's nothing for the user to select anymore.

By the way, menu options can't be hidden by users.

Look for table 2000000061 User Menu Level and delete all the entries that have your USER ID in.
