Error when trying to rename field in SQL

I'm trying to rename a field in a table and am getting the following error: "15333, "42000",[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Error: The Qualitifed @oldname reference a database (advance) other than the current database."
I've gotten this before on other tables - does anybody have any idea how to fix this? Thanks,
