Tax Depreciation in or with Navison Fixed Assets

Has anyone setup the tax depreciation schedule in Navision 3.7 Fixed Assets? I know I would have to use the "User-Define" method, but is there a better way to calculate this?
Or can you recommend a 3rd party software package?
Thank you,

This is actually a lot easier than you may expect. Here is how you would setup a 5 year 200% DD asset purchased this year using half-year convention:

    Depreciation Method : Declining-Balance 1
    Depreciation Starting Date: 01/01/05
    Declining-Balance %: 40 (which is 200 % divided by 5 years)
    Use Half-Year Convention: Yes

That same asset setup as 150% half year (normally used for Alternative Minimum Tax)
    Depreciation Method : DB1/SL
    Depreciation Starting Date: 01/01/05
    Declining-Balance %: 30 (which is 150 % divided by 5 years)
    No. of Depreciation Years: 5.00
    Use Half-Year Convention: Yes

That same asset setup as 200% DD but using mid-quarter convention bought today (November 7th)
    Depreciation Method : Declining-Balance 1
Depreciation Starting Date: 11/15/05 (mid point of 4th quarter)
    Declining-Balance %: 40 (which is 200 % divided by 5 years)
    Use Half-Year Convention: No

Please look at Navision's setup guides for additional information but this at least should help you make sense of what they are trying to tell you. You should not have to use User Defined unless you are taking bonus depreciation. Also keep in mind that only certain fields are used based on the depreciation method.
