Can anyone explain the Item Register report a little. We did an upgrade from 3.10 to 4.0. I have had requests for modifications, specifically to display serial no.s I ran the report in both versions, showing Positive and Negative Adjustment entry types. In 3.10 this report generated $ values, in 4.0 they are all zero. In 3.10, it displayed one line per item with a quantity (and one line per serial no, if it exists - custom), in 4.0 it shows some of these same lines with quantity of + or - 1, and some that show quantity >1 which match the old version.
I need to look further to see if I have data integrity issues, but this hardly seems to be functional, even based on the lack of $ values alone.
Help!

In nav 4.0 there are two Item Register Reports:
703 Item Register - Quantity (NAVW13.00)
5805 Item Register - Value (NAVW13.70)
The report 703 is taking the information from the Item Register table and the Item Ledger Entry table and shows only quantities about every Item Register.
The report 5805 is taking the information from the Item Register table and the Value Entry table and shows only $ values about every Item Register.
Which report are you examining?

I am pretty sure Report 10144 looks at the Value Entry table based on Entry No.s in the Item Ledger Entry table. I think the timing or order of the process may have changed and be a factor - I haven't put it all together yet. I do know that the same report run in 3.10 shows $values, but not in 4.0.

Do you have report 10144 - this is titled just "Item Register"? Could it be country specific?
Report 703 is a world wide report which is not included in the North American database as MBS have created a localized Item Register report instead which is report 10144. Report 10144 includes more information than the world wide item register report 703. The North American database includes report 5805 - Item Register - Value.
That explains the object number difference. I will need to look further into 5805 which displays values.
Thanks!
