Hi! I've got a problem trying to connect to a sql express database. the error : incompatible field data type. Field : Wait time Navision: Integer SQL-TYPE: BIGINT
occurs and I can't figure out how to get around it.
1. By SQL Express, are you referring to the Express edition of SQL Server 2005. This is basicly the new developer version.
2. What version of Navision?
Current versions of Navision do not support the BigInt datatype.
Current versions of Navision do not support SQL Server 2005. I understand that the soon to be released SP1 for Navision 4.0 will include support for SQL 2005.
There is a partner webcast on Thursday that may confirm that.

It is already released. At least the W1-version.
And i tried something out:I copied the ITA-subdirectory (=Italian language) to the Navision-subdirectory and SP1 let me choose also the Italian language and didn't give errors! Of course I didn't have the Italian SP1-objects.

Thanks a lot that seemed to have solved all the problems !!!
We even copied the local (country spesific) files directory, directly from 4.00 Norwegian to 4.00 SP1 W1, and it works.
The 4.00 SP1 version has release date december the 1th, in Norway, but we couldnt wait.
Did you encounter any other problems ?
Do we still have to copy the xp_ndo.dll from the SQL_ESP area on the installation CD
to the SQL\*.*\Binn area ?
I've also got some problems with the Express manager installation related to the Microsoft.NET 2.0 version, sometimes it works, othertimes not.

No other problems, I just copied it and tested for a few seconds.
I don't know if it still has to be copied, I already had it because of other versions on my portable.
I have had the "pleasure" of integrating some of that functionallity into a US version. Back in the 2.x days before the common english codebase.
I feel for you...
But it can always be worse:
When I transferred in Italy, I had to work with 2.60. I thought no problem, it is multilanguage then I noticed they had translated all in Italian. Coming from Belgium, I was used to ML since 2.01. That version was already completely in English with ML-captions for Dutch and French! Later I learned that almost every country had still translated all in the local language. Only since 3.01 all is in English (or less or more at least). With 3.XX I still found some things in italian, like some tables (Objects=>Oggetto;Session=>Sessioni;...).

I have no idea how to fix that. Maybe someone else has an idea.
