Pure Live Seed anyone? or any other VARIABLE unit of measure

Has anyone done any work relating to the "Pure Live Seed" in Navision?
This is not like buying by the ton and selling by the pound/kg. It seems that seed sellers have to establish the purity of bulk seeds and sell by the "pure unit".
For example a 50% PLS seed would take 2 pounds of bulk seed to make one PLS.
Naturally each batch of seed will have a different PLS - and if the seed remains in inventory for too long it will have to be retested and the ratio is likely to drop (part of the ratio is based on germination
So, if anyone has any ideas, I 'd love to hear them. Currently I'm leaning towards a new table to separately track each batch of seed with bulk quantity, PLS quantity and allowance for retesting.
