Serial No. in Twice

Hello
The users in my current client have been puting serial numbers in their purchase and sales orders using item tracking code 'SNALL' (code and setup copied from Cronus) and there's been problems with users selling the same serial number twice.
Is there some setup in navision to stop this from happening?
