What’s the most efficient way to migrate on-premises applications to Azure with minimal downtime?
I’m currently planning a large-scale migration of several on-premises applications to the Microsoft Azure Cloud. These applications include a mix of web apps, databases (SQL & NoSQL), APIs, and background services that are actively used by multiple departments. Because the business operates 24/7, minimizing downtime is a top priority, and we need a migration strategy that ensures near-zero disruption to end users.
I’ve explored multiple Azure migration tools and approaches, but I’m still unclear about which combination would deliver the most seamless transition. Here are my main concerns:
Q: Should I rely on Azure Migrate for assessment and discovery, or are there better third-party tools for complex environments?
Any guidance, architectural suggestions, or step-by-step experiences would be extremely helpful. I want to ensure the migration is smooth, secure, and doesn’t impact daily business operations.
