ServiceTier Administration Tool

we are using the tool for a long time and are very satisfied. However, we have recently a problem. When we start the tool, it takes 5 minutes to display the services. We don't see anything in the event log and we haven't changed anything in the BC. What else could we look at? Are there config files that we can look at?
