Break bulk-NAV 2009

Hi,
we have some problems with break bulk function in warehouse picks. We are using Nav 2009.
Break bulk works fine when gathering smaller UOM (pieces → boxes) (only pieces in inventory), but it doesn’t work the other way around (boxes → pieces) (only boxes in inventory). The base UOM and sales UOM is always the same (pieces).
What could be the problem?
