How to add a new paper size in Navision for Shipping Label

danldanl Member Posts: 25
Hi all,

We need to add a new paper size to use for the shipping label in Navision.
Does anyone know how to add it?

We can not find any matching paper size from the list of the predefined papersize below.
In navision -> Object Designer -> Shipping Labels -> Report Designer -> Report Properties -> Papersize.

The paper size we need is

Margins
Width: 14.7 cm
Height: 10.2 cm

Thank you in advance for your help.

    2 things to mention:

the list of regular paper sizes is stored in the ascii-file 'fin.stx' in each client directory. but i dont know how to change the values, maybe someone here from the board.

to print the label on the label printer correctly, go to start - system settings - printers- click on the labelprinter and then go to file- server settings and create a new label for this particular printer. thats it.

The fin.stx is checksum-protected and cannot be changed.

Label printing can be nerve-racking because the result can also depend on the OS Printer Drivers or the supplied printer drivers. If the printer worked fine under Win98 it may not under WinXP even though the Navison report has remained unchanged.

Try leaving the paper size undefined, set all margins to zero and create a section with the exact height of the label (this can be set in 1/100 mm in the Property SectionHeight). PaperSourceFirstPage usually has to be set to "Tractor feed" if such a printer is used.

Instead of changing anything in Navision, try and change the printer properties to print to that size labels. then use the Printer Selections table to have that report use that particluar printer, which defaults to a certain size. Then your report should work.

We set the paper size to undefined in Navision, and used the form we created from Window's printer properties. It worked.
Thank you so much for all your help.
