In Navision 3.6, what are the steps or process flow in order to move all the items in an item group into a new item group?

what are the impact interm of sales, inventory, report & account since the items might recorded in financial area such as G/L Account ect. under the previous item group in previous transaction.

Thanks.

    Hi,

There is no Item Group table in Standaard Nav, neither is there a Item Hierargy table.

What do you use to create these groups? Has there been any customisations?

If you explain to us what the Itemgroup is we cant try to help you.

yes i think it is customized.

All the item are recorded in an item hierarchy.

    the item hierarchy goes by:
Business Code --> Item Division Code --> Item Department Code --> Item Group --> then the Item No.

    e.g.: for a hypermarket:
    01 (electric appliance) --> 001 (video) --> 0001 (tv) --> 00001 (sony) --> then the item no.

now i want to move all the item under an Item Division code 001(video) to a new division code 002 (visual).

how can i make it or what is the process flow?

as the item involved will exist in the previous transaction (sales, purchase, account) which recorded with the old division code 001, what will happend and the impact when i move it to new devision code?

thanks n hope that any1 can help me....
    Regards.

I think renaming the old codes can be tricky here because of the customisation.

I would make a report that changes the item and all purchase and sales orders.

It requires some programming. Maybe you can ask the person who made the customisation to do it for you.
