Items are assigned Lot number and expiry dates when items are shipped, but on the receipt side either the Batch number or expiry date or both do not show. what could be the problem ?

Your set up. This is all controlled by how you define your "Item Tracking Codes"

There are no bugs - only undocumented features.

This normal happens with transfer orders ..when transfer is done per item, all is well but when 3 or 4 items are on a transfer lines, that's where some items will not have batch numbers or expiry date at the receipt side

Be sure the following are checked in your Item Tracking:

    "Lot Transfer Tracking"
    "Use Expiration Dates"
    "Require Expiration Dates"

The values may not copy over to the inbound entries. You may have to populate them before posting.
