We are working on an upgrade from Nav 3.10 to Nav 4.0. We are getting some data related errors while trying to convert the DB. I would like some clarification if possible.
During the data transfer from the temp tables into 4.0, some checking is happening. For each Item Ledger Entry record, there should be corresponding Item Tracking Entry records equal to the Quantity (Item Ledger), so if the Item Ledger Entry Qty = 3, there will be 3 Item Tracking Entry records, each with Qty = 1. In some of our records, type OUTPUT, the Invoiced Quantity in the Item Tracking Entry records are 0 which is stopping the process.
We need to correct the data, but also be able to establish why it is happening so that it doesn't continue after the upgrade. I am not sure why the Invoiced Quantity would need to be <> 0. If items are produced, consuming things in the process, then output, is it not reasonable that they could be in inventory with an Invoiced Quantity = 0? Is it the relationship to the Item Ledger Entry that is causing problems? I am trying to determine what process they are doing that is creating the problem and it is not clear.
I think half my problem is not understanding all the functionality.
Thanks!
