Accessing Global variables in report extension

I'm looking into the new ability to extend reports in, what I need to be able to do and can´t find out if it is possible (yet) is to access the global variables in the OnPreReport trigger.
What I'm actually trying is to change the PeriodStartDate , PeriodEndDate and HeaderText in report Aged Account Receivable.
