Could you please tell us exactly what you want to do? Maybe it is a language issue, but I do not understand what you need.

Convert the string to a date variable (with EVALUATE). Then you can compare 2 dates.
I hope I understood your question correctly.

IF EVALUATE(myDummyDateVar,myTextVar) THEN
  IF myDateVar = myDummyDateVar THEN
