Ability to Edit a Released Document

Hi All,
in the Windows client if I go into a Purchase Invoice which is approved / released I still have the ability to edit the document (Clicking Edit in the Manage tab). In the Web Client the Edit button at the top of the page isn't able to be selected. Please could someone explain why the behaviour is different?
