Hi,

Im not too tech savy so would appreciate if the anwear is in a "beginner level". Im trying to set up the SMTP Mail Setup settings for a customer in NAV 2017. When I try to send as myself, to myself the test goes through. But when I try to send to another mail I get the following error. I have tryed to enter another User ID with the same result. Any idea on how I can proceed? Many thanks.

Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2017

The mail system returned the following error: "Transaction failed. The server response was: 5.2.0 STOREDRV.Submission.Exception:SendAsDeniedException.MapiExceptionSendAsDenied; Failed to process message due to a permanent exception with message Cannot submit message. 0.35250:0A00AC80, 1.36674:0A000000, 1.61250:00000000, 1.45378:02000000, 1.44866:901F0000, 1.36674:0E000000, 1.61250:00000000, 1.45378:951F0000, 1.44866:44010000, 16.55847:F30F0000, 17.43559:0000000004020000000000000000000000000000, 20.52176:140F3F8A0700101043050000, 20.50032:140F3F8A7817000000000000, 0.35180:48050000, 255.23226:0A00B180, 255.27962:0A000000, 255.27962:0E000000, 255.31418:0A00B280, 0.35250:0A000000, 1.36674:0A000000, 1.61250:00000000, 1.45378:02000000, 1.44866:3E000000, 1.36674:32000000, 1.61250:00000000, 1.45378:43000000, 1.44866:01000000, 16.55847:AA000000, 17.43559:0000000000030000000000000000000000000000, 20.52176:140F3F8A070070200A00B780, 20.50032:140F3F8A781710106B050000, 0.35180:0A00B880, 255.23226:4800D13D, 255.27962:0A000000, 255.27962:32000000, 255.17082:DC040000, 0.27745:75050000, 4.21921:DC040000, 255.27962...".

This error is typically due to the sender name being blank.

Are you using the default address from "Apply Office 365 Server Settings" - or are you using your own?

I'm using "Apply Office 365 Server Settings". It just populates the server and port. The sender name most definetly do have a name [email protected] (the field User ID). Or what do you mean by sender?

I mean, are you using a real e-mail address to test this?

Yes the e-mail address are real and existing.

Can you post the full stacktrace from the event viewer?

I made a small checklist from different microsoft support tickets related to this issue:
    • Is this an office365 account?
    • Does this account have an actual mailbox?
    • Can this account send mails manually without error?
    • Is the mails storage capacity exceeded?
    • Do you have any code in SMTP mail codeunit that could overwrite the sender?
