NAV App on iphone will not connect to server

Since the recent iOS 12.4 update, (timing is very coincidental anyway) I have two users for whom the app will not connect to the server. Both are using iPhone 8. If the app is uninstalled, then re-instaled, it connects once. Then will not connect after that. The generic "Unable to connect to server" error is shown. That is for only 2 out of about 40 people. I have tried hard resetting the phone but the issue persists. I wonder if anyone else has experienced this?
