Jet Reports question

tentacletentacle Member Posts: 27
Hi,

we plan to implement Navision 4 and Jet Reports in one of our companies.
I took a look into Jet reports docs but did not find anything about my question.

Is there a way to get information out of Navision over a VPN connection right into Excell on a PC without Navision? Maybe even without recognising it (from the view of a Navision user) ?

Thanks

I have worked with Jet Reports and I am not overly impressed with it. However if you wish it use it you must know tables that data is stored and some basic programming to make it work easily.
You can contact Jet Reports and see if they would let you play with a demo.
The other alternative I would look at is Automation from within Navision or Crystal Reports.

It depend, on which DB server you are using. In both you can use ODBC for reading the data. If you are using Native DB server, you can use C/ODBC but you need some files from Navision Client on the PC, or if you are using MS SQL server, you can use MS SQL ODBC...
