Windows Client on hosted platform

We are just installing NAV 2018 for the first time. We want to use the windows client but have an on-prem license hosted by a datacenter. They say we have to use RDP or if we want to use the Windows client they can only do it through a couple of static IP addresses. We have two major offices and then have users who will access NAV from off-site. Is this possible without setting up VPN's, IP redirects etc? (Obviously I'm not technical).

The client works over WAN.
But firewall rules need to be in place.
