NAV RTC Field Group Lookup will not display one field

WE discovered that the way to control the fields that display in a Lookup page (the one defined by the LookupPageID property of a Table) is through the use of the Field Groups feature of the table. We can define a DropDown Field Group and get control of the fields displayed, but our problem is this: We define a DropDown Field Group to be the two fields Code, Description. For some reason NAV will not display the Code field--only Description. Code is part of the table's primary key. Doesn't matter whether we define Code, Description or Description, Code or AnotherField, Code, Description. In every case Code is ignored.
Does anyone have an idea whether this is something to do with the field name (i.e., "Code") that NAV doesn't like, or is there a property definition somewhere that is blocking it?
