NAV2017/NAV2018 on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

Hi all,

Has anyone deployed NAV2017/NAV2018 on a Windows Server hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)? I'm assuming that if it's a standard Windows Server and standard Microsoft SQL that there shouldn't be any real problems. Client has other hosted apps on GCP so they are interested in staying with one cloud provider.

Thx

I have no experience with GCP but if they are essentially cloud VMs then it should not be a problem, assuming that you can make the networking work

I do not have experience with GCP either. I too would assume it shouldn't be a problem. They have a special page for MSSQL on GCP and have tutorials available.

I would recommend to create a requirement list for the customer:
    1. Resource requirements in CPU, Mem, IOPS, bandwith, disk space
    2. Desired server configuration (three tier, load balancing, high availability)
    3. Desired client access for users (RTC, WebClient, Apps)
    4. Desired network layout
    5. Backup and restore
    6. Platform availability
    7. Etc.

If you've this list you should be able to validate if the GCP (or any other) solution is suitable for your customer or not. Without a design/requirement list it's nearly impossible to tell if a solution is suitable for the customer or not.
