NAV2016 - Bing Maps AddIn Example - Weird Characters

Hello Experts!
I have created the sample nav Control Add-In as in a tutorial (but had to tweak it to make it work).
Now I am seeing the weird characters in map area in NAV instead of German letters.
For comparison, I have created HTML-page with bing map control, and it shows them correctly.
I tried to play with setLang and setMarkt properties, but it did not help.
Any ideas where to look next?
