date format

Does anyone know if there is an easy way to convert a text value like '2-Aug-05' to Navision's date format?

    Try function EVALUATE: first convert the string you have to a format that is suitable for this function, then use eg.:
    IF EVALUATE(DueDate,DateString) THEN;
    Converting the date to an suitable string is the tricky part.

    An other option is function DMY2DATE, but then you have to split up the text string and be sure that the month notation is always the same, ie, Aug is always Aug, and can not be Augustus, Au, etc.

    Hi,

    By just taking that date txt string to Excel and then edit each cell and remove the leading ' and enter, will Excel recocnise the date format.
    Within Excel can you turn date formats quite easily around to the format you prefer for you data to go into Navision.
    Also play around with the TXT category functions within Excel. I use the LEFT RIGHT and MID a lot.
    Pull the date TXT string first apart into various cells and then rebuild the format you require.
    Also remember to use the & when combining strings or cells again, within your formula.
