Best Practise to setup user security

Hi

I am currently setting up user security for my clients. I understand how to use the Roles and Permissions. But I find it very tedious to setup roles and permissions especially when there are several customized tables and forms.

Is there a better strategy to fix this problem? Or third party software? Or am I going to spend days to setup the security? How long does it usually take to setup security for the users assuming they have sales, purchase, manufacturing, inventory and GL users. I am using the standard Navision Roles and I am still taking a long time.

If you will extend the standard roles with new tables needed for the role, and create some "template users" for each type of user, you can use copy&paste to copy the roles from template to other users. And there are objects which are better view to the same thing...
