Report Layout Illegal characters in path error in NAV2016

Dear All,

When I try to open the report layout by clicking Tools -> Layout from developer environment, I am getting error as follows.

It is not possible to edit the layout with the report designer.

Detailed description: Illegal characters in path.

If anyone know how to resolve this , please let me know.

I am getting the same error, but a while ago my layouts were opening just fine. Anyone knows whats the cause off this???

i know how to fix it but dont know why happens.

U have to export the layout from a good database and then in the bad database:

-Put processing only yes and save.
-Put processing only no and save.
-Open the layout (yes, it will be blank).
-Click on "save as" and remember that path (which contains a temp .rdl.
-Take the exported .rdl and put it in that path with the same name.
-Close al designer saving
-Et voilá

To me, Its a report builder issue, installing Report Builder Version 3.0, solved my this problem with the opening report in NAV 2016.

If the error persists and you already have Report Builder 3.0 installed try repair the component. Go to "Prerequisite Components/Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Express/" in whatever Nav version instalation folder run "ReportBuilder3"

We had the issue on our server that had multiple versions of NAV. Just install each version on each of the installation dvd's.
