Is Mibuso now slowing down?

Is it just me or does it seem like it takes a longer time to bring up pages & do searches lately.

When I do searches i've been getting the white screen of death:
CGI Timeout
The specified CGI application exceeded the allowed time for processing. The server has deleted the process.

even if I narrow it down to 1 month & 100 characters

I suspect some RSS Readers are using lots of resources. "Most users ever online was 72 on 20 Jul 2005 18:59": I bet this aren't all "real" humans.

Please let me know if you experience more delays. I'll then contact my hosting provider to look into it.

I recogniced that it happens more and more often that I can't open the forum.
Sometimes I get the error "Could not connect to database", but in most cases I get only a blank page.

What's happening with this forum? :-k

These problems only occur in the forum, not on the main page or download page.

May be that it is 1000 posts bug... :-)

May be that disk with the DB is slow... and the RSS feeds - if each user refresh after 15minutes all RSS feeds he have, it can be big problem, when there is more than 100 users...

    Anyone else experiencing this again?

Some topics or forums take a 30 sec to a min to open.

I've been experiencing it this morning. It looks like mornings Eastern time zone in US is when it's the slowest. I guess asia, europe and us are all accessing it the most.

I have created a support ticket with my hosting provider for this one. Maybe it helps if one can mention the time of the day when there are performance problems.

    I have it too.
I have the idea that it is the whole day around.
I'll post in this topic when it happens.
Also others can post in this topic when it happens.

BTW : don't post the time it happened because with the different timezones we have... So better write something like : happened 30 minutes ago and lasted for 10 minutes. Together with the (recalculated) time of the post, we know when it happened.

It seems that the connection to the site is either down or very quick. I assume that if there's high traffic, it would just be slow, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Could it be that this is the "Convergence Effect"?

UPDATE: The hosting provider changed the way PHP was executed (ISAPI instead of CGI). The next thing we will try to do is to optimize the mySQL database service.

Recently (last few days) from time to time I'm experiencing slow-downs again... Same symptoms as "no resposne", "blank page" or even "could not connect to db".

actually, this morning it forced out my log-out (I have "Always log in checked") and I loosed "new post" statistics (so had to check new posts one-by-one but that is smaller problem).

I am also experiencing a slow down. Sometimes a post reply takes over a minute to open the post form.
