Using NAV remotely

Hi there,
I'm looking to deploy NAV for a sales rep always on the road. Essentially they are the only user, just raising Sales Orders. The problem is they are very limited to internet coverage via hotspot (3G/4G). Ideally the user would require access permanently offline.
My proposal is to buy a windows tablet and use NAV as a program within, rather than an iOS app that would require 3G access. If possible then when the user returns to Wifi/Internet that night we could somehow take a backup of all SO's raised that day. This 'Windows Tablet' would effectively be the main database then I presume?
A colleague suggested deploying via the above, and possibly taking a backup of the DB each night once the user is home.
Would appreciate any best practice tips, or most cost effective way of deploying this approach.

Hi cbyrne92,
I would recommend to use an app developed for this specific use case. Because you describe a common use case, I expect there are multiple apps already available on the market.
Basically the app synchronizes the data required to make a sales order from NAV to the local app database. The Sales rep can create new sales orders on the go. When the device makes connection with internet again the orders can be synced with NAV automatically.
NAV doesn't default have a client that can work offline. Buying an already developed app that can communicate with NAV is cheaper than creating a solution on your own I expect.1 -
I believe that Mobile NAV may allow you to work offline and enter sales orders - https://www.mobilenav.com/0
