Hi All, in NAV 2015, is it possible to do multi-level approval as below (by either application setup or technical modification):
User create PO or SO -> Level 1 Approvers, then -> Level 2 Approvers, then -> Level 3 Approvers -> release of PO or SO
Each level allow more than 1 approvers , but anyone approver's approve of this level can make the PO / SO to next level or next step.
Anyone approver's reject of any level can make the PO / SO rejected.
This level approver(s) only see the SO / PO after previous level of approver(s) (if any) have approved the doc.
Finally all SO / PO must be approved by three level of approvers before release.
Any idea? Both application setup and/or technical mod. solutions are welcome, many thank in advance
(Just a remind: NAV 2015 without workflow as NAV 2016 or later, so suggestion of using workflow may not work)

NAV does not allow for more than one approver for a single level. A scenario where a document awaiting approval can be approved either by user A or B is not handled and in order to add such a functionality you would require quite a modification - If you want to do it 'right'
Dynamics NAV, MS SQL Server, Wherescape RED;
PRINCE2 Practitioner - License GR657010572SG
GDPR Certified Data Protection Officer - PECB License DPCDPO1025070-2018-03
Thank for reply, so anyone know any reference how to make the modification? By the way, also want to know is it "allow more than one approver for a single level" even not work in NAV 2016 or later? Many thanks.
Thank for suggestion, will consider the modification cost and add-on cost for the functions.
What you need is standard in NAV 2016, 2017 and 2018 (NAV 2018 integrates Microsoft flow too). If you will consider an upgrade soon then I believe it will be a waste of money and effort to get a new add-on or to customize the solution.
P.S: mainstream support for NAV 2015 ends next year. It is maybe time to seriously think about an upgrade ?
Hello NavNab and thank for reply, yes I have stated the programming mod. or add-on (only this function part) most likely not necessary in later NAV version, but the result is people still want it in NAV 2015. However, you reminded me the mainstream support for NAV 2015 will ends at next year, let see this point can change their mind or not. Many thanks
Yes, usually depend on what user think.
Good Luck
