RTC in Dynamics NAV 2017 UI personalizations automatically reset overnight

I have a customer who complains that RTC does not remember UI personalizations the next day he opens it. For example, he changes the width of the navigation pane or of a certain column, and the setting is saved for the current day, but next morning everything is reset to its original state. Any ideas?

This type of customization is stored in a file in the user's profile, namely %AppData%\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\PersonalizationStore.xml

This file tends to corruption, so, if you have trouble, delete it while no client is running.

Also make sure this file gets properly synchronized with roaming profiles, server farms and the like.

Also make sure only one client is running in that profile. I am not sure if changes are overwritten by a client closed later.
