Are the posts being in reality adverts allowed?

I've seen a few, just curious if this is genuinely allowed or there are any rules/fees which let some companies do that

In general, posts that only advertise a product or service are not allowed. Only sponsors can make postings in the "3rd Party Products, Services & Events" forum to announce their products or events.

Often it's a thin line between providing forum users info about existing products and posts that are created only to advertise a product.

There should be a reporting function on the post or the topic. I can't find it back though... Maybe because I am a moderator...

I took actions on those posts.
