Template list popping up when added to Navigation Pane

Dear all,

I have added Item Journal Template List under Activity Buttons under a group named Journals. Now when I click on the Journal I'm prompted to select the Journal template as a popup. Is there a way to avoid this, because if the user press cancel then they will not be able to see other items under the group.
