Run a link to a report with startsession

Hi guys, is there a way to start a report (e.g dynamicsnav://nav2016.lan.local:7054/BLABLA//runreport?report50066) but in a STARTSESSION environment?
The "problem", is that i'm running this link in a rdlc, so that i can retrieve the total pages printed and write it to a table...but there is a problem if a modal window appears on the screen (e.g. if you print as pdf), because the client is "pausing" and a new one is opened.
PS: i know i can run a webservice, but then i'd need parameters to pass in a method (by running a report, instead, i can pass parameters as report filters)
I hope it's clear, thanks in advance

ok...i shifted the problem somewhere else...now i am trying to get the link working when scheduling the main report...but it just does not start, do you know if there's a way around it?
All i want to do now is run
"dynamicsnav:://blablalbla/runreport?report=50000blablbla" from rdlc code of a scheduled report...i can achieve it from the Windows client, but not from a scheduled report0
