Sales order to Production order - automatic conversion

Is it possible to create a production order from a sales order automatically?
(Using workflows).
If possible please help me out to pull through this.

You may want to be a bit more specific. Do you want to create a production order from sales order in one click or what do you have in mind? Also, how is the sales order created?

I worked on a project recently where we use XMLport to create sales orders which we wrote some code to automatically create Released Production Orders, Production BOMs, and tie all back to the sales order itself.

@MisConsultng - One of the users will be creating the sales order and what I need to set is a workflow (any other alternatives) that create a production order from the sales order. (Without manually generating a production order from sales order)

you can use "order planning" window to create the needed production order(s).
