NAV 2016 Android app via VPN

Is it possible to use NAV 2016 Android app via the VPN tunnel? I have installed OpenVPN application on device and tunnel is successfully created. NAV application still report timeout or not accessible the NAV server. I have read a lot of articles but no success. I have read that NAV application requires public IP address (https://saurav-nav.blogspot.sk/2015/11/microsoft-dynamics-nav-2016-how-to.html), but it is not possible in my case. I don't know what to try.
