Port sharing in Windows 10

Hi

I have two server instances on my own computer which both share same ports.

I followed Waldo's instructions: http://www.waldo.be/2012/10/17/port-sharing-with-nav2013/ but failed to get server instances back running. I get this error message:

Windows could not start the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server [DynamicsNAV100] service on Local Computer.

Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start.

I was wondering if "sc config MicrosoftDynamicsNavServer$<Server instance> depend= NetTcpPortSharing/HTTP" is still valid in windows 10 & NAV 2017?

Yes, that syntax and command is still valid for Windows 10

Use the services administration tool to check the dependencies. From there you can also check, which dependency fails to start. You might find more information about why in the windows event log.

Easy way to check and change if the port sharing is enabled on a service : http://mibuso.com/downloads/service-tier-administration-tool

You also need service "Net.Tcp Port Sharing Service" running.
