NAV deployment for 500 users

Dear experts,

have anyone ever encountered NAV system used by 500users in 1 nav instance? currently one of my clients are evaluating if they should go with nav or move fwd to ax or SAP

in functionality wise, i believe nav is enough. but there are major concern in performance wise because i have heard a lot that NAV performance will greatly slowdown with more than 250 concurrent users and around 50k-80k sales orders handled daily.

this company i'm talking about have 400 sites which process purchase receipt / transfer orders / daily cash transaction around 10-100 transaction per day. they also process 200-300 sales invoices per day with inventory using batch number.
also in the head office they have 40 staff do the finance/accounting process.

i wonder if NAV 2016 (2017 ?) are really capable for this kind of company?

any opinion/comment are welcomed.

regards,-

Nav wasn't built to handle that many users/transactions.

Yes 500 is I believe a lot more users. Eventually it may end up in Multiple Deadlocks.

local Microsoft representative suggest to go with AX instead.
