In 3.60, there are few archive tables like

5107 Sales Header Archive
5108 Sales Line Archive

What is the purpose of this tables? I know that there is a copy of Sales header, when you change something in it but, what with that? Can I rollover to previous version of SH and if I can, how? (besides that I can copy/paste through o. designer)

You have function Archive document under Functions button on Order card. It create new version in archive...

than you can use field "No. of Archived Versions" in header to lookup the version and on the card of the version you have button Restore... which restore the selected version back to the order...

That is what I call teaser functionality that was never finished by Navision. The only way to access archived versions is from the actual order, so you lose the link as soon as the order is finished. And guess what... the archived versions don't always get deleted either.

We've expanded on this a number of times where releasing an order archives the order automatically, and finishing an order creates a final version right before it deletes the order. Then we also added access to the archives from the menus. Our customers were very happy with it during conference room pilots, but after a while I don't think they actually use it much.

I agree, we are using something as "Archived orders" for 5 years (Navision Financials) and it is enough for our customers. It is only copy of header and lines automatically done in posting process and acessible from main menu...

We have done similar sorts of things - Typically we are asked to do the following:

    a) When an order is posted or deleted, a copy is sent to the archive tables, also when certain details are changed.

    b) Adding the Archived Order form to the Menus, under the posted documents.

If you have setup Relationship Mgt. to create an Interaction Log Entry when printing, you can lookup how the document looked at the time of printing. Actually quite nice and apparently an overlooked feature ;-)

    Hi Peter,
Could you please explain me how to create this Setup?I can't find anything about that.
Do you have some manual on that or could you tell me where to find a manual?
    Thanks

    Sure.
"Sales & Marketing" -> Setup -> Interaction -> "Template Setup"
Setting up a template for the documenttypes in question should be enough (as far as I remember)
And of couse whenever you print one of the documents you'll need to ensure that "Archive Document" and "Log Interaction" are checkmarked, but I think they are both default set when the above is configured.

WOW, this is amazing. Peter you deserve a medal ! There is a thread in 2005, Peter adds a comment, then TWO YEARS later someone asks him a question about the reply, and Peter answers IN LESS THAN HALF AN HOUR !!!!

I thought I was good, but you are brilliant

    Calm down :)
If my boss heard you, he'll say "Why the h... aren't you busy with that assignment I gave you???" #-o

And to be honest, my reply back in 2005 is actually quite strange when I look at it now. It was correct what I wrote, but I don't answer the question at all

PS: If anyone have asked me anything related to other topics and I haven't replied, is it most likely because I for some reason rarely get the e-mail notifications. Am I the only one with this problem?
    Regards
