can any one explain me why the error was occurring while posting the purchase invoice form..I am using classic with sql server 2009 r2..?

Please open dimensions assigned to the invoice and check whether you have added any dimension code with PLANT, if so delete and try

I did not assign any dimension value to the order I am posting..

dimensions will be automatically added after selecting vendor no. and Item.
Please check dimensions form

Yes as Mohana said you need to remove this otherwise you will continue facing this error, seems it has been done as a mandatory.
