This is the most basic easy question but I can't figure it out. In NAV 2016 can I use Alt in shortcut keys? For example if I want Alt+A to be Address Validation, how would I set this up in the shortcutkey property?

Try using an ampersand '&' in the caption in front of the letter you want to use as shortcut.
These shortcuts only work in a local setting. For a wider scope, use Ctrl as a modifier key.5

Combinations with ALT are not allowed. Try Ctrl+Key instead, e.g. Ctrl+B. Simply write that as text to the property value.best regards
