Server disconnects with Navision 4.00

Navision V4 has been installed. The service is shutting down and the following message appears when a user tries to connect to navision : Event ID: 7031 - Service Control Manager. The service NAVISION has unexpectantly shut down....

Did somebody get this message. It is not a hardware problem. we tried on a brand new server and the problem remains.

When you installed it, did you select nettype tcp or tcps? Navision doesn't handle tcps at all.

Hello,

we had the same Problem with Navision 4.0 on SQL Server. The default
Nettype is tcps and the Clients sometimes lost connection to the Server.

We got the latest hotfixes from the MBS Support , but they dont' solve the problem! Ouer Request is still in progess on MBS Support.

We then changed to Nettype tcp and all works well :-)

Sorry, but I do not know setting for use TCPS on Navision with MS SQL Server... are you talking about Application server?

You need to get the latest patch from your vendor. The build should be more > 20000.

Hello Kine,

you can set the nettypes for the clients for connection to the database.

If you choose Database -> Open from the File menu you can chose the nettype on the Advanced register.

I know that, but there is no TCPS option (Secure TCP) - there is only TCP/IP sockets... :-)
