Phone Client / Universal app can't connect: "Server connection timeout occurred"

Boom-BoxBoom-Box Member Posts: 27
Hi everyone,

I have set up a NAV 2016 instance, with Windows authentication, along with the web client. I have installed the selfsigned certificate and can access it via browsers - I get an error on the certificate, but am able to install it and move on.

When I try to open it with the universal app - I have tried Windows Phone, Android Tablet and Android Phone - I always get the error "Server connection timeout occurred" .

I have created a series of different certificates and installed them in the phones all the times: using computer names, internal IPs, external IP,...

Really don't know what the issue may be. I am trying to access via an external IP, but I do get the same error when trying to connect via the domain.

Do you know what this may be?

Thanks

I have the same problem. I can connect with Phone App on iPad and Windows Phone but not on Android. On Android phone I always get the error "Server connection timeout occurred". On Android from Chrome browser works fine.

For External IP make sure that your Navision Service Tier is in Public Domain.

Also check IP on the NST Server as sometime there are two IP's bind to same server - Pulbic and Private.

That can be the only issue if its just from external IP. I have tested it here -

Hello everyone. I have the same problem. It's impossible to make the Phone App work on Android. It works fine on Chrome, but not the Phone App. I've created the certificate with the CN name of my internal server ip and now it works on Windows Phone, but Android is so frustrating... Any ideas on how to make it work on Android.

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Have you been able to solve this error? I'am having the same issue here, self signed certificate installed. Able to open from phone's browser, but universal app is not working at all, I'am having "Server connection timeout occurred" error.
