Block Item with certain Serial No. ?

I want to block my Items with certain serial no., purpose the item with that serial no. can't to be sold, Can I do that in Navision Financial?

Use the "Blocked"- Field in the Item-Card.
If its True you cannot post this Item.

Hi,

Assuming you are are using totally standard Navision Financials GB2.00 or above, the serial number is held on the Item Ledger Entry record. You could then reserve the specific Item Ledger Entry for that Serial Number against something to ensure that no one else can use that ledger entry.

Alternatively, you could speak to your Navision Solution Centre about having your system modified - maybe having a "Blocked" field added to the Item Ledger Entry table or copying the "On Hold" funtionality in the Customer/Vendor Ledger Entry tables & applying this to the Item Ledger Entry system too.

In Attain there is a Serial No. Information table (table 6504) that contains information about specific serial numbers. One of the fields is "Blocked" which controls the blocking of individual serial numbers.
